The Florida Breast Health Initiative (FBHI) targets neighborhoods likely to have the highest concentration of uninsured and medically underserved individuals.FBHI performs door to door outreach providing households with the health industry guidelines for the early detection of breast cancer, referrals to low and no cost breast screening sites, breast health information , breast self examination tools and breast health promotional items. We culminate that neighborhood outreach with a visit from a mobile mammography van offering free mammograms to women who qualify. Where mobile mammography is not available, referrals to sites offering low or no cost mammograms will be offered.
